The Human Services Council is an association of more than 60 public and not-for-profit organizations and interested individuals. The Council meets on the first Thursday of each month, 8:30-10:00am, at the University of Illinois County Extension Service auditorium, 801 Country Fair Dr., Champaign, IL. The Illinois Volunteer Management Network seeks to cultivate an extensive resource network of voluntary agencies and associations, small and large, across Illinois. The purpose of the network is to help address the primary concerns of these agencies' hardworking volunteer managers and administrators, including recruitment and retention of volunteers, local organizational capacity-building efforts, and ongoing training and professional development opportunities for volunteer managers - in their own backyard. The East Central Illinois region hosts meetings and events the hub communities of the region, including Bloomington, Champaign, Decatur and Charleston. The region extends from Springfield, the current state capital, to Danville, and from roughly Pontiac to Effingham.
