CCAMR - Champaign Community Advocacy and Mentoring Resources
Description:
CCAMR is a not-for-profit organization that ran a group home for adults with intellectual disabilities for 30 years. CCAMR was no longer able to keep the home open due to financial difficulties and sold it to another agency.
Our primary mission now is to use the money from the sale of the home, plus any donations raised, to provide personalized grants to adults with intellectual disabilities for things that enrich their lives but for which they do not have funds. Some examples of the grants we have awarded to individuals include funds to get dental work done so that the individual would not lose his teeth, bathroom renovations to make them accessible to individuals with physical disabilities, home renovations to make independent living possible, funds for transportation to work and other community activities, among others.
Champaign Community Advocacy and Mentoring Resources is dedicated to providing advocacy and supports that will contribute to improving the quality of lives and facilitating the independence of people with disabilities.

On August 20th Alto Vineyards is hosting a fundraiser for CCAMR from 4-9 pm. We will have hors d'oeuvres, music, entertainment, raffles, a silent auction and other activities. CCAMR is a volunteer organization only. We do not have funds coming in from any sources other than from donations and fundraisers. That is why events like this one are very important. All of the funds we raise go directly to individuals with intellectual disabilities.
More details about the fundraiser are available on our website. See facebook.com/ccamr
