The Champaign-Urbana Schools Foundation will generate earned-income for itself through facilitating the re-use of safe, clean industrial, business and household by-products and discards. This will be accomplished by offering these donated materials at low cost through its The I.D.E.A. Store. The store will be a retail store and warehouse open to everyone, particularly serving art and general education teachers, community and church groups, families, and individuals who choose to use non-traditional materials for various activities. The I.D.E.A. Store will also offer classes, professional development and workshops for adults, teachers and children on waste-stream interruption through re-use. In addition, The I.D.E.A. Store will aggressively seek K-16 student service learning by developing programs to support student volunteers from our public schools as well as community groups. The I.D.E.A. Store also includes a Re-Space Gallery which promotes wider appreciation for and practice of resource conservation through the sale of art and designs made from reused materials
