Sorry I am so late in answering this. I'm supposed to be our resident technology expert around here, but other responsibilities have kept me away for the past few weeks.
As far as website software goes, there are tons of excellent free or cheap options at this point. It really depends upon what you need to be able to do, what your web hosting setup will allow, and so on.
Oh wait, you're with Douglas Hart? I've volunteered there before, and I actually put in a bid with you guys at one point to redo your site, but there wasn't enough of a budget for it. I had talked to Tina about maybe doing something a little less ambitious than I originally proposed on a volunteer basis, but then I got caught up in helping to build this site here and applying for grad school and other things and it dropped off the radar. However, I am going to be free most of this Spring and Summer before I go back to school, so I might still be able to do that if you guys want to. At very least I can come in and talk to you about what your options are.
Cheers,
J.
